Kiko Ricote: Commercial work

Kiko Ricote started off as a model, and later began his career into commercial photography. I found his commercial photography work to be the most intriguing because it focuses on the harsh realities of life that we see everyday. Although his pictures do not put it in the kindest of ways; they are blatantly outlandish and ludicrous by how they exaggerate common occurrences in daily life. Some of them are rather humorous in this way because of how much he exaggerates the situations, while others can be disturbing for how they provide commentary on the phenomenons that we see or have experienced ourselves. By his work we can see how he is so successful in the realm of commercial photography. He works for many big Advertising agents and has his own fully equipped studio in the Coconut Grove area that he rents out to other photographers as well as for video productions.

  1. I love how some take a moment to and others are blatantly obvious. These can take some thought in processing what is going on in the space. Then the story starts to pan out. Photos that focus on society are very interesting and he definitely approaches it in creative way.
